the song "Dream Control" reaches Italian radio.

This is Rusty J's international debut and the first song in his career that acheived regular rotation on radio.

RJ does his a photo shoot with highly creative photographer Nicolle Greer. Ms. Greer and Rusty J parter up to shoot RJ's first music video.
Script supervisor for Jim Henson Studios, Danielle Snowden joins the production team.

RJ begins casting for his first music video.

He chooses Model/Actress, Ms. Amber Martinez to play the leading female role.

Italian Record label "Edinet" signs the club song "It Feels Good".
A track written and performed by Rusty J and produced by Italian hardystyle/electro DJ Activator.

Feb. - April 2011

Rusty J writes-records-produces-performs 30 dance songs.
10 of which he would exclusively release online via website and email newsletter.

Several tracks are downloaded by a slew of major record label executives.
Including, SONY BMG, WARNER BROS, ATLANTIC RECORDS, and UNIVERSAL.

The releases fail to generate enough interest to intiate working business relationships.

RJ also contacts 1,000 DJ's requesting spin consideration of a self produced single titled "It Feels Good."

RJ is scheduled to do a Pop Country duet with Taylor Swift,

as the title track for a nationally airing movie "Ford and the American Dream."
The movie loses funding and the duet never takes place.

Rusty J and Anthony Falcone write a jingle for Eduction Connection.

The jingle would later air for several years and become a phenomenon.

RJ signs a management contract with Spencer M. Clarke and Marla Sitten.

Rusty J was offered 3 music management contracts.

Rusty J’s MySpace music jukebox page shows a growing 290,000 play count. 

His YouTube channel shows 250,000 channel views.

Also, he recieves his 50,000th MySpace message from fans online.

 

Oct. 2008

During the first 7 weeks of living in LA, Rusty J performed at 7 events.  Hollywood promoter, Lumis James, says “Rusty rocked the stage so hard that I booked him 2 more times!"

RJ was presented with a licensing contract by successful music placement company, Shelly Bay. Shelly Bay has placed music in motion pictures American Beauty, Any Given Sunday, Big Daddy, Charlie’s Angels, Clueless, Love & Basketball, Ocean’s Eleven.

Shelly Bay would soon pull out and the contract would not be signed.

 

Aug. 2008

August 2008, Rusty J relocated to Los Angeles, CA.

 

Oct. 2007

Rusty J’s album, self titled "Rusty J”, which was 17 months in the making, was digitally released in 2007. Rusty J partnered with up-and-coming producer Anthony Falcone and co-wrote select tracks with Bill Vincent. Vincent also produced several tracks on the album.

As a grass roots effort, Rusty J pressed and sold 300 copies of his album in Smyrna, TN.  

In review, Mark Bialczak, music critic from the Syracuse Post Standard said, “he can boast and rhyme, surfing on top of catchy beats.  The 16-track collection of originals also shows that Rusty J has a bubbly pop music side, too.” 

Bialzak also writes, “Rusty J isn’t shy about about shouting compliments to his co-producer, Anthony Falcone.  Deserved praise, since Falcone helped shine the warm spotlight on Rusty J’s talent.”

April 2006

RJ began a 3 year internship with Director of RadioActive promotions, Marla Sitten; who has facilitated two record deals.

Also, Rusty J began to study under Artist Development Group’s marketing guru, Davis Jonethis; Nashville's famous Music Row.

 

Sept. 2005

Fall of 2005, Rusty J relocated to Nashville, TN to pursue his artist career. 

Soon after, he signed a 1 year non-exclusive promotional contract with an entertainment company.  According to the entertainment co., "Rusty J received heavy interest by Def Jam in 2006." 

 

Nov. 2004

Rusty J was selected out of 1,000 applicants to perform at the New York International Music Festival.  After participating at the festival in New York City, Rusty J was awarded “Best Hip-Hop Performer.” 

Local newspapers began to cover Sheldon’s musical career at this time.

 

Dec. 2003

Rusty J parted with Blendz Records.  From 2003-2005 Rusty J hit the road and performed his original material on the CNY bar/college circuit. 

During that time period, Rusty J booked, promoted, and performed 30 events.

 

Sept. 2001

In 2000, Rusty J began recording original music with local mc’s in Fulton, NY.  After releasing his first 10 song EP in 2001, he began his solo artist career. 

Rusty J wrote, recorded, released and promoted a 20 song compilation in 2003.  Due to the buzz he had created in Central New York,

Blendz Records (independent record label based in Syracuse,NY) signed Rusty J to a recording contract.
